I am sure you have already heard, but I am going to say it anyways. WE FINALLY GOT VINCE A PAIR OF AIR YEEZY"S!!!! This time we didn't have to camp out, but we had to do a raffle. For BTNC in Fullerton, Vince bought a hat which got him a raffle ticket. For Blends in Costa Mesa, we had to get there the day of to get a ticket.
Anyways let's get to the good part. So Vince, his sister Mel, his mom and I, went to Blends. Vince and I got there at 7am and we were the first ones. The line got long pretty fast. Everyone who showed up was guaranteed a ticket, but we wanted to be first. Vince left right before the raffle started because he had to go over to the other location. Well us being the first in line ended up paying off because my raffle ticket was called. Let's just say I froze as I looked at Vince's mom and said "that's my ticket" and then she screeeeeeched. It was so funny. You would have thought we just won the lottery.
Long story short Vince's sister Jen also had her ticket pulled at the other location. So we now have two pairs of Yeezy's. One which we are trying to sell online.
I still cannot believe I had the golden ticket. Let's just say I was QUEEN for the day (ok my reign only got to last a few hours) hahaha.
Make sure you show up to our Graduation so you can see the yeezy's making their first appearance.
Praise the Lord Graduation is just days away!!! I had one final tonight and my last one is Wednesday night. After that it's PARTY TIME!!!!!!

My last Day of Class!!!
Today was such a bitter sweet day. I attended my last class session of my undergraduate career. I still have a 6 page paper and 2 finals left until I am officially done. I found myself fighting back a few tears as my favorite Professor prayed for us in class for the last time. I am looking forward to the future, but am sad to leave Vanguard and to close this chapter in my life.

We came up shoeless!!!
After 19 hours of camping outside Niketown in Beverly Hills last night until 10:30am today, we did not get a wristband for the Kanye shoes. To make matters worse, the person right in front of us was the last to get one. Unlucky #21! They only had 20 pairs available and we missed it by one person.
Our trip would have been a total waste of time if we did not have so much fun. My cousin Alex and I, had a couple celeb sightings.
We took a picture with America's Next Top Model judge Nole Marin (picture coming soon).
Saw paparazzi everywhere, which led us down a street to see Heidi Klum hidden behind a umbrella. A little bit later we ran into our tourist friends, who said we literally just missed her having a photo shoot on Rodeo Drive. I guess we just missed Alison from American Idol in the BeBe store too.

Since paparazzi are everywhere you kind of expect to see somebody famous, the funny thing is they will not tell you who they are waiting for. It's a big secret! I guess they just don't want us taking their shot.
Around dinner time Alex and I walked around Beverly Hills (by the way we moved our car every two hours so that we didn't have to pay the outrageous parking fees.) Also the reason why Vince is not in any of our celeb sightings is because he was devoted to staying in front of Niketown all night.
So back to the story, Alex and I were walking down the street and stopped at Rustica Pizza and Crumbs Bakery to get some food and bring it back to eat with Vince. On our way back we saw the restaurant Mr. Chow and all of a sudden the paparazzi start taking pictures and saying... (watch this video one of them posted to find out)
http://mefeedia.com/entry/jewel-eats-out-at-mr-chow/16218974
Haha did you see us taking a picture with her. So funny I had the pizza and everything in my hands. As you can tell we were not really ready for anything like this. We were in camping mode, not look cute for the camera mode.
Jewel was so sweet and her friends took a couple pictures for us, sadly the flash wasn't on so they are a lil blurry. I will post the pictures once I get it back from Vince. Poor Vince not only didn't get his shoes, but he got barely any sleep and is now at work til 8pm tonight. He is such a ROCKSTAR!!! Alex and I had a little bit of sleep in the car. I wish I had a picture of us and our sleeping arrangements.
Our car was parked in front of Niketown at this time, Alex is asleep in the passenger side with her seat all the way back (practically laying flat on the back seat. Vince and I are outside on our chairs with a blanket. At about 2am I join Alex in the car. Only to toss and turn the whole time. I literally slept in a ball in what was left of the back seat with my neck kinked different ways every 20 mins or so. Not comfy at all! At least it was a lil warmer than outside. Sorry Vince!!!!
In the end we were disappointed that we didn't get the wristband for the shoes, but what we came to realize is that we did have a great time. We also realized that there are a lot of people out there who consider getting drunk and smoking weed normal.
This experience popped the bubble we have been living in for the past few years at Vanguard and even in Orange County. Thanks to Alex and Vince for helping me get to this point where I can look at the positives from our trip!
I would totally do this again in a heartbeat. Fun times with those you love is a priceless gift.
xoxo

They're Coming!
That's right the Air Yeezy's are almost here!!! If you read one of my earlier posts about the Kanye shoes, you know what I'm talking about.Vince really wants to get a pair of these, so the great girlfriend I am will be camping out with him.
Yes, we will be living on the streets of Beverly Hills for two nights. We will be heading down to the Niketown in LA this Thursday around 4pm. We then will wait around til 10am to receive a wristband. The wristband guarantees us a pair, but not the size. After we get the wristband we will head back to the OC, where we both have to go to work. After Vince gets off of work we will head back down to LA, to camp out til 8am on Saturday when the shoes go sale.
Wish us luck!!!!!

Look what I found
I was at Target yesterday and saw this cute lil' plague. I didn't end up buying it though. I guess you could say I'm saving for the big day... When I buy another pair of shoes. hahaha.I realized that sometimes we can get the same satisfaction from a picture of something as we would get if we would have bought it.
Helpful hint of the day: Stimulate the economy (even one shoe store at a time), but don't buy too much that you go broke in the process.

Aloha!!!!
She has worked so hard and deserves to play for a team like this. I wish her the best of luck.
For her this means becoming a surfer and wearing flip flops year round. Wait a minute that sounds just like the OC life. Since I have yet to go to Hawaii (oh it's on my list) I really don't know what she is in for. All I know is that I am going to miss her so much. She not only is my cousin, but she is like a sister to me. After all when we were younger we did wear matching outfits. Yes, we were cute!!! (I mean we still are as you can see from the picture!!!) Anyways I love you A*Griff and I can't wait to see you on T.V. and your name in the paper.
I hope you're ready for some Spam!!!! :)

PS: I already have my flip flops packed! Lol

"We Came, We Saw, We Conquered!"
After arriving in New York only a couple days before it was now Monday, the doom day. The day in which I had to leave the BIG apple. We did not let that get us down though, we were on a mission to CONQUER the City. Our first destination of the day was the TODAY show. 3 out of 4 of us made it out of bed that morning to go. So the 3 of us with our signs in hand walked up the street to go stand outside in hopes of getting our 5 seconds of fame.

After standing in the cold, weaving our way to the front, my cute sign made its TV appearance. That was definitely an adventure that morning! Let's just say the lady grabbed the Ireland flag from my frozen little hands. I was so glad Vince and Maria stuck it out with me though. Thanks guys!!!!!
After the show we made a quick pit stop at our hotel to finish packing and check out and then we headed to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The wax museum was so fun and we got to see so many celebs including my favorite Food Network Host.

Since Vince didn't get to see the part of Brooklyn that the rap songs sing about, we made sure he got his picture with Biggie!

After the wax museum we took the subway up to central park so that we could take a horse drawn carriage through the park. I'm so glad we ended up doing that because our carriage driver was the one who let us know the show Gossip Girl was filming.

We are BIG fans of Gossip Girl, so this was the "cherry on top" of our fabulous weekend. For all you GG fans, that is Chuck Bass walking by. I have no idea what got into me this weekend. I usually don't ask celebrities for pictures and I wouldn't usually scream "Chuck" from across the street, but I did.
After seeing Chuck Bass and a few other characters including the infamous Blair, I felt as if our trip was now complete.
After waiting around to see if Serena (Blake Lively) would make an appearance, we decided to walk across the street to FAO Schwartz. That toy store is amazing! In the Barbie section you could make your own Barbie and in the baby doll section it was like a little hospital, the sales woman even wore a nurses outfit.
After FAO we walked back over to to see if anything new was happening with GG. What we found instead was the street filled with police officers.
We then headed back down to our hotel stopping at the Disney and NBA stores, we also grabbed a bite to eat at GoodBurger. You know the one "Welcome to GoodBurger, Home of the GoodBurger, Can I take your order?" Made famous by Kenan and Kel!!!! The hamburger was worth the money we paid. It was indeed a "GOOD" burger!!!!!!!!
After another great day in the city, it was now time to fly home, but not until we saw actress Jennifer Tilly at the airport first. This time I didn't ask for a picture though.
I could not believe how amazing our trip to New York was, it really didn't stop until we got on the plane. I hope my last couple of posts have given you a taste of NEW YORK and have shown you the many reasons why I love that City!!!!!
XOXO

Meet Miss Glam Pie!
You may be wondering who Miss Glam Pie is, well here she is...

Yes, that's right, my shoes are called glam pie! Now before you think I am some kind of shoe fanatic, let me just tell you that these cute black and pink tennis shoes are Pastry. Pastry is a brand that was created by Vanessa and Angela Simmons (Rev Runs Daughters). They came up with this cool concept to name items within the brand after some sort of pastry, hints why these are called glam pie.
As if the 5 pairs of shoes I brought along on my trip were not enough, I went ahead and bought another pair of shoes. Miss Glam Pie made her appearance on Sunday March 15.
I know, I know I am a shoe fanatic, but these shoes were necessary. After two days in New York my feet were killing me, so in order to be able to walk around all day especially in Brooklyn, I had to buy Miss Glam Pie along with a cute pink Pastry zip up to match.
After searching long and hard for some sort of comfortable tennis shoe, I finally bought Miss Glam Pie and was able to begin my day. Let's just say if you want to meet a rude New Yorker go to the Lady FootLocker on 34th street. This lady was so rude to me that we left that store empty handed. Good thing FootAction was down the street.
So after all the drama we encountered we look the subway over to Brooklyn to meet my friend Kerry for Brunch.
After exiting the subway we definitely knew we weren't in the City anymore. Brooklyn has a very different vibe. It is not a bad thing at all unless you go to the bad areas (the ones Rap songs sing about).
While waiting for my friend to show up for brunch we encountered this cool vintage shop next door. Vince picked up a sweet jacket that has his name on it. Brooklyn was the perfect place for Vince, not only was he walking the streets that famous rappers have walked, but there was a White Castle.
The only thing we were missing was Harold (from the movie Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle)
Brunch was delicious!!!!! It was a small restaurant with only a few tables, so I guess we can't be super mad that after eating the lady asked us if we could move to the bar (by the way, the bar had no room).
After eating our friend Kerry showed us around Brooklyn. It was pretty cool to see a different part of New York than what I am used too. Her apartment wasn't as small as I was expecting, it was actually a good size except maybe for the bathroom. Sunday was more of a chill day so we hung out at Kerry's for a couple hours just talking and laughing. Before we knew it was dinner time.
For dinner we headed back into the city. We had no idea what we wanted to eat all we knew was that for dessert we were off to Serendipity for their famous frozen hot chocolate. On our way we stopped of at Dylan's Candy store. Wow! There was tons of candy I remember from my younger years. Dylan's was a very cute store!

Since the wait was so long for Serendipity we decided it was probably best to eat dinner before dessert, I guess that's the typical way, right? I love food so the thought of eating always makes me smile.
Down the street from Serendipity was Patsy's Pizzeria. By far Patsy's had the most AMAZING pizza I have ever tasted. Definitely put Patsy's on your to-do-list when you go to NY.
Serendipity was fantastic as well. Just check out the picture of us sipping our frozen hot chocolate.

After another eventful day we headed back to our hotel for the night to make signs for the Today show.

Running in Boots
Our first destination for Saturday (3/14) was Staten Island. The ferry was a nice 25 minute ride where we got to see Lady Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and the New York City Skyline.
We only spent about an hour in Staten Island. Let's just say that it was like a ghost town there. I ended up spending the whole time running around trying to find a bathroom. Just another Adventure with K!!!!
We then walked from Battery Park all the way back to our hotel (42nd St, next to Grand Central).

Some of the things we saw along the way:
1. Ground Zero
2. Wall Street
3. Chinatown and Little Italy
4. Canal Street (aka knock off central)
5. Soho (BAPE, BBC, Peanut Butter and Co., Washington Square Park)
6. Chelsea Market (this is where Food Network is located)
7. Pier 59
8. Macy's and Madison Square Garden

As you can tell by the map we walked a long way. In California we rarely walk places, but in New York it is very common. You get to see a lot more things when you walk rather than taking the subway.
Another long day required a late afternoon nap! It was definitely needed especially before we met up with our friend Kerry in Times Square that night. We finished the night by seeing the Naked Cowboy.

My Boots Weren't Made for Walking...that far
So the adventures officially began at 5am on Friday the 13th. After a quick outfit change at the hotel our first stop was Starbucks of course. One venti white chocolate mocha later and I was ready for the BIG city. One of the great things about New York is the architecture of the buildings. We saw so many amazing buildings as we walked the city. At 7am we attended Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, it was absolutely beautiful. After Mass we walked over to the Today Show and got to see Matt, Al and Meredith.

After freezing our butts off we continued to walk up the street where we passed Juicy Couture and Louis Vuitton. This of course meant more photo ops.

After stopping at Trump Tower to get warm we finally made it to Midtown where we saw the Apple store. If you look on Vince's blog you can see his post from the store that day. Across the street from Apple was Central Park. Central Park is beautiful and don't we look great for barely having any sleep. Mind you it is 10am or so.

Central Park not only is beautiful, but it is huge. I think we made it only half way through. Since we were nearby we decided to see the MET. Sadly, we did not go inside, but we did eat hot dogs on the steps. I guess you could call me a NY fanatic. I was the tour guide on our trip because a lot of the stuff we saw I was able to remember the movies or TV shows it showed up in. Next time you want to go to NY, take me along with you. I make a great tour guide!!!!

Our next stop was the American Museum of Natural History. If the picture above looks familiar then you saw the movie Night at the Museum. Remember dum-dum?!!!!! Too bad we went in the daytime, I guess I will have to wait til next time before I get to talk to dum-dum and T-Rex.
After walking in my boots now for 6 or 7 hours we had a great idea of walking from Central Park all the way to Times Square. Although we got to see cool things along the way, our feet were starting to hurt. Looking back at it though I still would have walked because we saw Bad Boy Entertainment and also Sam from the show Top Chef. Maria noticed him right off the back and as she told me I turned around and yelled "SAM!" At this point he is a short distance away, but as he turns to look at us I yell "Can we have a picture?" Can you believe it he actually turned back around and continued walking. For the record I never ask celebrities for pictures, I think this was my first and last time :)
Feeling rejected we continued down the street. Ok we didn't feel that rejected after all it's not like it was Rachael Ray or anything :)
After many photos and pit stops along the way we finally made it to Times Square for our first "real" meal of the day. At Ruby Tuesday's we had the typical actor slash waiter. He gave us the 411 about life in NY. Let's just say he got a good tip from us that day!!
After watching my friend Maria nearly fall asleep at the table, we decided it would probably be best if we headed to the hotel to take a nap before the Broadway show.
After a short, but oh so sweet nap, we freshened up a bit and headed over to see In The Heights. If there was ever a Broadway show made for Vince, this was the one. Who knew rapping could be in a Broadway show. This show is a must see for everyone going to NY.

Can you believe that after the show we continued to walk Times square and even back to our hotel. And all this time I am still wearing boots. Apparently the song wasn't talking about my boots. It is crazy what I do for Fashion.
As you can tell by my previous post, I didn't really learn my lesson because my boots will make various other appearances throughout my trip.
I hope you have enjoyed the play-by-play of our Friday in NYC! The remaining posts from our weekend are still to come ( and by that I mean tomorrow. For now I have to go to sleep)
xoxo

For now I have to go to sleep)
xoxo

And the Winner is...
After much anticipation my New York trip is less than a day away and I am so excited. As you can tell by the picture 5 lucky pairs of shoes will be making the trip with me. Just for the record my flip flops will be used for the plane and hotel only. This California girl will not be wearing those around the city anytime soon.
For those who know me well, you know that I LOVE NY, so I will be taking advantage of every minute, this means that my next post will come as soon as I get back. Okay I will admit I wanted to bring my laptop, but I realized two things #1 more to carry and less room for shoes and #2 Internet isn't free. So since I wanted to bring more shoes and use my extra money to buy more shoes, I have to wait until late Monday night or early Tuesday morning for my next post.
Goodbye for now! This Cali girl is going to New York, New York!!!!!

Who will make the cut?
As I get ready to travel to New York in a couple of days, I am faced with a dilemma. It isn't what will I do when I get there or even about what I will pack on my carry-on. It isn't even about what outfits I will take. No, this is serious business!!!! You see this time of year in NYC, it's boot weather and I have no idea out of my 7 pairs of boots, who will make the cut. Sadly, I am only there for 4 days, so that means at most 4 pairs will make the cut. I know you are probably saying I only need to take one pair at most two, but this is NYC! Haven't you seen shows like "The City" and "Running in Heels" or movies like "Confessions of a Shopaholic?" New York=Fashion. And that means I have to look my best.
Meet 2 of the contestants.

So who will make the cut?
Stay tuned...

Do you speak KANYE?
For all those who may not know, Vince loves Kanye West. Okay He may not use that terminology, but lets just say Kanye inspires him with his innovative music and fashion extravagance. From letter man jackets and mullet type hairstyles to his Nike Air Yeezy shoes (pictured below). I will admit it to you, but just don't let Vince know that deep down I like Kanye too. I just give Vince a hard time, telling him that I don't want to listen to his music, but let's all admit it, Kanye makes good music. And he has pretty good style too.

In fact Mr. West's style is like no other. He has a one of a kind fashion sense, that gives a new spin on what Hip-Hop looks like in the 21st century. His Nike Air Yeezy's (coming April 2009) are the perfect portrayal of Kanye being the "voice of this generation."
These Air Yeezy's haven't even been released yet, but I can just picture the long lines that I will be waiting in so that Vince can get his pair. What can I say, who wouldn't want shoes that Kanye himself wears. Air Yeezy's will give the average person the opportunity to walk in Kanye's shoes.
So tell your brothers, sons, boyfriends and husbands that Air Yeezy's are coming to a store near them very soon. As for us ladies, unless we are waiting in those long lines for moral support, I suggest staying away from the malls on the release date, because I think we are going to see some record shoe sales, and I just don't think we want to get trampled by a guy trying to get himself some Kanye shoes.

I got my Running Shoes on!
I can't believe I am about to graduate, these four years of college have gone by so fast. I have really loved the experience, but now I have strapped on my running shoes and am ready to leave the place I have called home for the last four years.
I will admit though as I drive to work I think about how in a couple of months I will leave Vanguard, and then I start getting teary eyed. Going to Vanguard has truly been one of the best things I have ever done.
Here is a recap of some of the great memories I have from the last four years.

We Went to India for 21 days!
I have met some pretty amazing friends!
I became an RA and got to have my cousin live next door to me.
I cut my hair and then I cut it again and again and again and then dyed it brown (not pictured here)
I camped out for the Rose Parade! This meant I pulled an all nighter and had to stay awake as I drove home with no radio and the rest of them asleep.
Vince and I celebrated our 5 year anniversry! (Well now it's like 5 years 7 months and 12 days, but whose counting right?)
Oh yeah how could I forget, I finally went to New York. This by far has been one of my favorite family vacations so far.
There has been so many great memories from the last four years, it would take me all night to list them.
For now I'm taking off my running shoes and just enjoying these last couple of months of college, because before I know it, it will all be over.
I really want to Thank all my family and Friends for all their support, love and encouragement that made these four years possible. I love you guys!

If Shoes could talk...
If shoes could talk what would they say? Would they give us fashion advice? Would they talk about all the things we have done together, all the places we have traveled and all those amazing people we have come across?
Deep down every girl wants a best friend who is going to share those special moments with her. What we often times find is that people let us down, but when it comes to shoes they can instantly bring a smile to our face and take us from "fashion faux pas" to "G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S!"
Shoes are necessities. We have come a long way from Bible times when Adam and Eve's feet ran naked through the garden. We need shoes and they need us. It is a match made in Heaven!
The great thing about shoes, besides what has already been mentioned is that they get to experience life with us. Those cute pink rain boots get to splash around in puddles with us while those fun black heels get to go dancing on Friday nights.
They get to see the world as we travel it.
As I walk across that stage and receive my Bachelor's degree, go to the hospital to see my newborn nephew's and travel from city to city, my shoes will be right there with me every step of the way.
So if shoes could talk what would they say? I guess you will just have to wait and see.
